Only Reliable Technology Delivers Value – DAVA Foods Finland Oy Appreciates Robotmation’s Comprehensive Service
Even the best technology is worthless if the equipment fails. DAVA Foods Finland Oy relies on Robotmation’s expertise and responsive maintenance. A partnership spanning more than two decades continues with close cooperation, as the company implements its new efficiency program.
DAVA Foods Finland Oy is Finland’s leading egg industry company. It has worked with Robotmation for over ten years, with no end in sight. The company values Robotmation’s technical expertise and agility, ensuring that the delivered equipment works not only today but also in the future.
“Quick contact is essential. A production plant cannot be left waiting for maintenance from the other side of Europe. We’ve made many equipment purchases from Robotmation and have been extremely satisfied with both the products and the services,” clarifies Jussi Vuori.
A Million Eggs a Day – in the Hands of Robots
DAVA Foods Finland Oy is jointly owned by the Finnish producers’ cooperative Munakunta and the Nordic DAVA Foods Group. Its most well-known brand is the domestic Kultamuna, familiar to all Finnish consumers. In addition to fresh eggs, the company’s product range includes egg-based products for professional kitchens and the food industry, as well as high-quality rapeseed oils.
The company processes around one million eggs daily. Eggs delivered by producers arrive at the company’s facilities in Närpiö and Kaarina in large plastic trays. The stacks of trays are unloaded from pallets with a pallet-unloading robot supplied by Robotmation.
“The incoming eggs are sorted, packaged, dispatched, and some are further processed,” explains Vuori.
Egg handling requires soft movements and careful precision. Retail packs are boxed using two EggBot robots before further transport. Bulk packs are sent to hypermarkets, while smaller packages go to smaller grocery stores. For carton palletizing, a multi-position palletizing system with two palletizing robots is used. Robotics are also applied to container packing. In addition, Robotmation has updated the automation for washing reusable plastic trays and pallets delivered by producers.
“The plastic crates from producers are reused several times. They are always thoroughly washed after use before being returned to the producers,” Vuori notes.
The goal of robotics is to achieve production cost savings. DAVA Foods Finland Oy’s newly launched efficiency program focuses on the potential of automation and production optimization. This also means continued close collaboration with Robotmation.
“Cost efficiency is a continuous process. Through smooth dialogue with equipment suppliers, we constantly explore the next improvement measures,” says Jussi Vuori.
