Fredman Operations Oy’s collaboration with Robotmation, which began three years ago, has been highly successful. Automation has streamlined various tasks and improved employee ergonomics. The easy-to-use machines have freed up staff to focus on more meaningful work.
Fredman is a Finnish family-owned company best known for producing household and professional kitchen products such as cling film, baking paper, coffee filters, aluminum foil, and more. At the company’s factory in Lappi, Rauma, products are packaged and delivered to grocery stores across Finland. Robotmation’s robots operate on the baking paper line, palletizing products by packing them into retail boxes and onto pallets for transport. Previously, these steps were carried out manually.
“We have significantly improved employee ergonomics. Now they can focus on more meaningful tasks in operating the machine, instead of having to constantly monitor the end of the line,” says Juha-Pekka Valo, Plant Manager at Fredman.
Robotmation’s machines have also impressed with their user-friendliness.
“The machine’s programming is very easy to use and simple for the operator to manage,” Valo adds.

The equipment delivered by Robotmation has been in use at Fredman’s factory for about three years now. According to Valo, the investments have never been regretted.
“We invited tenders from Finnish suppliers, and Robotmation convinced us with their expertise. What I particularly value is their local presence. Their business is located just 50 kilometers from us,” says Juha-Pekka Valo.
Valo especially praises Robotmation’s high-quality workmanship and project management. Their commitment has earned Fredman’s strong appreciation.
“One Saturday, the machine developed an operational fault, but through a remote connection we were able to reach Robotmation quickly and get the machines running again. I doubt many foreign suppliers could achieve that at such a time. In my opinion, Robotmation is reliable and true to its word,” Valo reflects.
Already during the initial equipment purchases, Fredman expressed a wish for ongoing cooperation, as the investments were never intended to stop at just one project. In the near future, a replacement investment will be made: an old machine, long in service at the factory, will be replaced by a Robotmation robot. Valo warmly recommends Robotmation’s services to others as well.
“I’ve been at the factory for 15 years, and I must say this has been one of the best-managed projects we’ve ever had. Robotmation’s design work is excellent, and they do their homework thoroughly already during the bidding phase. That has required a great deal of groundwork from them,” Valo concludes.
